2. The Puzzle of Motivation by Dan Pink
Daniel H. Pink is an American author and was formally the chief speechwriter for Vice President Al Gore. A New York Times best-selling author, he examines the puzzle of motivation, starting with a fact that social scientists know but most managers are unaware of.
While we always think, rewards are the best way to motivate in corporate life, he disagrees and says that rewards are not as effective as we generally think. He also discusses the relationship between pay and performance and we think this talk is a must for every leader to listen to.
3. The happy secret to better work by Shaun Achor
Founder of GootThink, Inc, and author of The Happiness Advantage, Mr. Shawn Achor is well known for his advocacy of positive psychology. A psychologist by profession, his ted talk was once listed as one of Ted’s most popular videos having more than 33 million views. A Harvard alumnus, he repeatedly tries to emphasize being happy now, taking care of you today, and how to accomplish your goals in a fulfilling way.

Today, a company can go to any extent to understand the sentiment of the customer. Millions are spent in advertising and surveys just to get an idea about how it should proceed to redefine its products in a better way. Diana’s Ted Talk focuses on how to treat employees more thoughtfully and provide a better way of understanding their issues.
Filled with staggering numbers, this video is sure to make you reanalyze your employee-employer relationships. Diana Dosik is a Partner at Boston Consulting Group. She has done significant work in strategy, with specific expertise in organizational behavior and culture change, most recently in health care and education technology.
5. Why Work Doesn’t Happen At Work by Jason Fried
Jason Fried is the co-founder and president of 37signals, a Chicago-based company that builds web-based productivity tools that, in their words, “do less than the competition — intentionally.” 37signals’ simple but powerful collaboration tools include Basecamp, Highrise, Backpack, Campfire, Ta-da List, and Writeboard.
Our final video is by Jason Fried who has this amazing radical theory of working which says the office isn’t a good place for working. He stresses the requirement of reducing supervision and allowing more freedom to the employees in terms of work hours, meetings, etc.
